Velocity privacy notice
Prepared 8 October 2026. This notice describes the browser application and its optional Google export integration.
Your research data
Velocity analyses survey files on your device. Importing a file does not upload it to Velocity for analysis. Projects, source data and recovery information are stored in your browser on this device. Local diagnostic and usage records stay on the device unless you choose to export or share them.
Microsoft Office exports download to your device. Choosing Google Workspace export sends the generated report or workbook to Google Drive. Reports and table books contain the content you have chosen to export; a data-sheet export can include individual respondent rows. Review the selected content before exporting.
Connecting Google
Google sign-in is optional. Velocity requests the drive.file permission to create export files and
access files made available to this app. It does not request access to your entire Drive. Velocity reads your
Google account email and Drive account identifier to show the connected account and keep exports and recovery
records separate between accounts.
The integration creates Slides presentations, Sheets workbooks and, when requested, project folders. Editable charts use a companion Sheets workbook containing aggregate chart values. Velocity reads export and chart identifiers to recover interrupted operations and avoid duplicate files. It does not automatically change sharing permissions. Collaborators who edit linked charts need access to both the presentation and its source workbook.
Storage and retention
The browser keeps its Google access token in memory. Account identifiers, folder choices and document links are stored locally. Interrupted-export recovery can retain the generated export contents locally; completed recovery records retain document links. Google files remain in your Drive until you remove them there, under your Google account's settings and Google's retention rules.
Closing the application clears its in-memory browser token. Disconnect Google in Project settings clears the connection and folder choices and requests revocation of the token. Disconnecting does not delete exported files or existing export recovery records. You can revoke Velocity's access in your Google Account connections, delete exported files in Drive, and clear Velocity's site data in your browser. Clearing site data also removes locally saved research; make a backup first.
Recipients and other applications
Google receives the export contents and account/API requests needed to provide Google Workspace export. The app is hosted on Cloudflare, which receives ordinary web requests such as your IP address to deliver the application. See the Google privacy policy and Cloudflare privacy policy for their handling of those requests.
Velocity's Google integration uses account and file data to provide the export and recovery features described here. It does not sell that data, use it for advertising, or send it to an AI service for model training.
If you use Velocity through an AI assistant or another MCP client, that application's processing of prompts and tool results is governed by its own settings and privacy notice. MCP sign-in is separate from browser sign-in. Its credentials and export recovery records belong to that runtime on your device; they are not included in portable Velocity projects.
